Legal support
ICBA provides legal support to attorneys at law and other legal practitioners in the following areas:
- consultations
- informational support
- establishing of associations
- protection of rights
- financing
- promotion of interests
- representation
The legal support provided is based around matters related to criminal law, which is a set of rules established with the aim of protecting the public and private individuals against wrongdoings. These include, but are not limited to, fraud, theft, murder, as well as violations of human rights.
Those violating criminal law are subjects to imprisonment, fines, public works and other punishments. Naturally, such procedures must be implemented with all due care, which is why people accused of violating criminal law require attorneys to represent them and prevent wrong judgements to be passed against the accused.
These legal practitioners, in turn, require institutions like ICBA to promote their rights and their works, e.g. protecting them from third party pressure, establishing contact with other practitioners for the purposes of cooperation, financing research projects and distributing relevant information, etc.
